Important Announcement: Germany Server Location Discontinuation & Automatic Migration

To our valued customers,

We want to inform you that Phantom Hosting will be discontinuing our Germany-based server location, effective 03/30/25. This decision was made after careful evaluation of several factors that impact service quality and efficiency.

Why is the Germany Location Being Discontinued?

  1. Aging Infrastructure – The hardware at our Germany location has been in service for several years and is reaching the end of its lifecycle. Rather than maintaining outdated equipment, we are focusing on expanding our newer, high-performance locations.

  2. Low Demand – Over time, we’ve seen a decline in demand for servers in this region, with most customers preferring our US-based locations for better performance, latency, and scalability.

  3. Resource Optimization – By decommissioning this location, we can allocate resources to higher-demand regions and continue providing improved service and reliability.

Automatic Migration to Our New York City Location

To ensure a seamless transition, all servers currently hosted in Germany will be automatically migrated to our new New York City location before the shutdown date.

What This Means for You:

Automatic Migration – No action is needed on your end; we will handle the entire process.
New IP Address Assigned – As part of the migration, your server will be assigned a new IP address. Please update any configurations or DNS records as needed once the migration is complete.
Minimal Downtime – Our team will work to keep disruptions as minimal as possible during the migration process.
Upgraded Infrastructure – The NYC data center offers unmetered bandwidth, enhanced DDoS protection, and improved hardware for better overall performance.

If you prefer to keep your server in Germany, please reach out to our support team before 03/10/25 so we can discuss alternative options. Otherwise, all servers will be migrated automatically.
